Reece “ASTRO” Lambert, former Epsilon eSports, DIVIZON, and GAMMA Gaming player, among others, has announced on Twitter that a biopsy done on his neck came back positive for lymphoma.
According to the definition given by the American Cancer Society, a lymphoma “is a cancer that starts in cells that are part of the body’s immune system”.
The same ACS recognizes five types of Lymphoma, including Hodgkin lymphoma, non-hodgkin lymphoma, non-Hodgkin lymphoma in children, the lymphoma of the skin, and the Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia.
The British player is very well-known in European T2 competitions, having competed in the PG Nationals, the GSA League, the Benelux League, and the UKIN. Following his stay in DIVIZON, where Astro qualified for the Challenger League, he signed for GAMMA Gaming back in September 2020.
There, the 20-year-old won two editions of the Benelux Cup and the Benelux League Season 9. On top of that, he competed in the 2020 and 2021 editions of the European Challenger League.
Due to Astro’s health condition, the player has decided to take a break from competitive Rainbow Six Siege. He will be focusing on his treatments and recovery.
